
JERRY FRIEDMAN is a Program Coordinator in the Office of Health Sciences where he works to enhance opportunities for inter-professional health sciences education and training. He also coordinates the affiliation between the Medical Center and Federally Qualified Health Centers on behalf of the Center for Primary Care. He previously served as the Associate Vice President for External Relations and Advocacy for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and advised the CEO, Senior Vice President for Health Sciences, and Dean of the College of Medicine regarding health policy and the strategic positioning of the enterprise in the external environment. He also established and served as the Executive Sponsor of the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center.
Jerry has been active in health policy development and advocacy on the national level with the: Association of American Medical Colleges; America’s Essential Hospitals and the Association of Academic Health Centers.
He has previously served as President of the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association; Legislative Counsel to the Ohio Department of Human Services; Chief of the Bureau of Medicaid Policy; and Counsel to the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee.
He has been active in government and community affairs since his undergraduate and law school days at The Ohio State University. Currently he serves as a member of the Franklin County Human Services Levy Review Commission and the Greater Columbus Healthcare Collaborative Board of Directors.
