Urban Institute looks at social security disability programs, make suggestions for policymakers

The Urban Institute describes how beneficiaries receiving Social Security for disabilities vary as well as the implications of these differences for beneficiaries' incomes and service needs and for proposed changes to Social Security. According to the report, policymakers should recognize the diverse circumstances and needs of Social Security beneficiaries who receive benefits on the basis of disability, when the time comes to tackle the long-run fiscal challenges of the program.
